Rather than spending a lot of time and money to renovate the house, painting tiles is a small change that can make a big difference. In many cases, it can give a room a new look with little cost. If you want a simple and quick home transformation, tile painting is a good idea worth trying.

What is needed for painting:

  • Cleaning agents for pre-treatment of surfaces to be painted
  • Tile floor paint
  • For drawing floor paint patterns
  • Paint Brush
  • Paint rollers for painting floors
  • Varnish roller/brush sponge for drawing patterns
  • Mold template
  • Old Newspaper/Kraft Paper
  • Meal tip
  • (stencil glue if required)
  • For a particularly strong effect, floor varnishes can also be used

STENCILING TOOLS

Prepare:

Before starting the painting process, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the surface to be painted using tools specifically designed for this purpose. Remove any dirt, grease, oil, wax, or other residues from the previously unpainted surface. Sand the surface, if necessary , to improve the adhesion of the new paint layer. It is recommended to use a coarse sponge for cleaning.

  • After cleaning, apply warm water and a sponge to wash the floor and remove any remaining residue.

Use stencil techniques to paint tiles:

  • Cover the baseboard with masking tape and prepare tools.
  • Place the stencil on the tiles and start painting the floor from the back corner of the room. (You can fix the stencil with soft tape, mesh tape makes painting easier.) We recommend that you first paint the entire tile, then continue to decorate half of the tile in corners and other difficult areas.
  • Take a small amount of paint on the roller and roll off the excess paint on the newspaper. When using stencil techniques, the paint roller cannot be too bright.
  • Use a paint roller or sponge to apply a thin first coat of paint to the surface to be decorated. Let it harden for a few minutes, then immediately apply a second coat of paint on the stencil without removing the stencil.
  • Let it dry overnight naturally.
  • To achieve a particularly strong effect, use a roller to apply 2 coats of primer.
  • Your eye-catching stylish floor or wall tiles are ready!
